MY training
I am Sophie, and my mission is to transmit what I live and learn, and hold space for your own transformative journey!
I have studied YOGA, DANCE, MEDITATION, HEALING ARTS and MARTIAL ARTS for over 20 years. I have taught 1000+ hours, from small-group settings to classes of 30-50 students.
My students are little (my youngest students are 6 week-old babies!) or very big (my oldest students are in their 70s), they dance life with different abilities (injuries, pregnancies, post-partum...) and come from all over the world.
I have taught yoga, movement, and meditation in Asia (Cambodia, Singapore), Europe (France) and in California, USA.

YOGA - My yoga journey started in 2001 and became an essential part of my life when I became a mom. I study Sivananda, Iyengar, Kundalini and Astanga inspired flow styles under the guidance of well-known and unknown teachers in Europe, Asia and California. My teachers offer me different approaches of yoga : some more philosophical, others with in-depth knowledge about the human body and therapeutic applications of yoga. My students are my other great teachers. They make sure I keep learning and staying amazed at the transformational power of yoga. Thank you teachers! Formal teacher trainings: YogaWorks teacher training / Pre and Postnatal yoga teacher training at Mama Tree / Iyengar workshops on yoga for scoliosis, back issues, pranayama. |
DANCE - From the kitchen wiggle to dancing for two contemporary dance companies in France, I love dance! I bring dance improvisation and contact improvisation techniques into my classes. I encourage students, big and little, to explore movement, expression and interaction with the world around through spontaneous improvisations. These techniques help free the body from its usual patterns, move in ways you never had thought about and have a great time! Think you can't dance? If you can wiggle some part of your body, you are dancing the dance of life!
MEDITATION - I stumbled upon my first meditation cushion as a child -most likely bribed by the prospect of a new toy, I'll ask my mother! I have since sat through many hours of monkey-mind and discovered different meditation techniques that sustain my practice and my teaching today. |
ENERGY WORK magically danced into my life to stay. I love to invite students to open up to their energy body and the energy of the world around! I am always amazed by the powerful self-healings that occur. Students can also deepen the work through personal healing sessions.
MARTIAL ARTS - I trained in Taekwondo for 6 years. I love my flying side kicks, my big fat black belt with a gold strip, and all that Taekwondo gave me: my first teaching experience as a teenager and a solid foundation from which my dance and yoga practices spread their wings. As a WOMAN AND MOTHER, I realize the cyclic and changing nature of life. I see the inner strength and resilience that comes from a flexible and strong mind, and a flexible and strong body. I also see how one person's well-being brings well-being to others around. This is why yoga is an incredible tool for the world today. |
Most of all, I believe each person's yoga and healing path is unique.
As a teacher, I strive to honour the unique light in each of my students.
